Barbara Elaine Evans (Spangler)

Barbara Spangler, age 70, of Mt. Victory, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Ohio State University Medical Center. On May 18, 1945, she was born to the late William D. Evans, Jr., and Josephine (Wilcox) Evans. In 1976, she married Kenneth Spangler.
Barbara worked as a truck driver for Nature's Fertilizer and Wyandot Popcorn, and she worked as an escort of oversized loads for 30 years, owning the K & B Flag Car Service. She trucked all over the United States, and she was proud to have averaged 110,000 miles per year. She enjoyed relaxing in her pool and working in her flowerbeds. She graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1963, and she went on to earn an associate's degree in business.
She is survived by her son Steve Steurer of Mt. Victory and his special friend Bonnie White of Marion; her daughter Pam Hipsher of Ohio and her grandson Brad (Holly) Graham; her daughter Victoria (Jeff) Carroll of West Virginia and her grandchildren Krysta Murphey and Ashleigh (Tony) Wollridge, as well as her great-granddaughter Vixie; her sister Judy (Bob) Lingo of Delaware, Ohio, and her nephews Bill (Dawn) Sampley and Tom (Michelle) Sampley; her sister Diane (Keith) Welch of Columbus, Ohio, her nieces Cassandra (Joseph) Holt and Tracy Wilks, and her nephew Scott (Mandy) Welch.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Spangler.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Vasquez and the surgical team at the James Cancer Center, as well as ICU nurse Shawna.
No services will be held. The Boyd-Born Funeral Home is honored to be handling the arrangements for the family.
