Gary Eugene Patrick Obituary

Gary Eugene Patrick, age 80, of Marion, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 12, 2026.

Born on October 4, 1945, in Marion, Ohio, Gary was the son of the late Charles William and Edith Loduska (Rockhold) Patrick. He graduated from Harding High School with the Class of 1963 and went on to build a life centered on hard work, family, and the things he loved most. Gary was employed by General Mills for many years before his retirement.

On November 26, 1991, he married the love of his life, Mary Lynn Forrest, and together they shared many happy years filled with family, laughter, and cherished memories.

Gary was happiest when he was working in his garage, where his remarkable talent as a woodworker allowed him to create countless projects with skill and precision. He had a lifelong appreciation for cars and was an avid football fan, faithfully cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs.

Above all else, Gary treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. His kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for his family will be remembered always.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lynn Patrick; his children, Matthew (Tracy) Patrick and Colleen (Beverly) Birko; his grandchildren, Wake (Emily), Chance (Shalynn), Terri, Shannon (Rick), Dillon, and Chloe; his great-grandchildren, Brian, Oliver, Charlotte, Carson, Ryder, and Tessa; and his siblings, Doug Patrick, Kenny (Sadi) Patrick, and Sharon (Ron) Sheeler.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. Private services will be held by the family.

Gary's legacy lives on in the family he adored, the memories he created, and the love he shared with all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
