Gloria (June) Chard (Osborn)

Gloria Osborne Obituary

Gloria June Osborne, age 79, died peacefully at home on February 23, 2024, surrounded by so much love after years of battling cancer.  “June Bug” was born on July 19, 1944 in Marion, Ohio to the late Robert and Pauline (Simpkins) Chard. June graduated from Harding High School in 1963, and was well-known around town for her gift of gab. Her favorite hobby was talking and she made friends wherever she went. She worked in various customer service jobs over the years, such as The Elks Club, VFW, Harding Hotel, Golden Palace, Clyde Evans, and MARCA. She remembered her customers’ names, favorite drinks, and always asked about their families. So many kids referred to her as “Momma June” knowing her home was filled with laughter, all were welcomed, loved, and well-fed the best homemade beef and noodles! Her resilience, strength, kindness, and unconditional love will live on in our memories forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Patty Chard, Pauline Chard, Twila Lindsay, and Barbara Chapman, daughter Kimberly Osborne, ex-husband Wilbur Osborne, ex-husband John Price, granddaughter Evelynn Pettijohn, nephew Craig Griffith, and so many beloved Aunts, Uncles, and friends.

June referred to her children as her greatest accomplishments and is survived by her daughter Lori Queen (Kevin), son Chris Osborne (Nicole), and daughter Shelley Pettijohn (Terry). She loved her nieces and nephews as her own children and is survived by Steve Lindsay (Alana), Ron Lindsay (Delma), Gail Hendricks (Dan), Rebecca Chapman, and Michael Chapman. Grandchildren were her biggest joy and she was so proud of Kaylie Sisler (Cass), Kierstan Hinkle (Garrison), Kendell Barlow (Ty), Kamryn Rush (Chris), Lucas, Owen, and Carlie Osborne, Ana and Noah Pettijohn. She said she was truly blessed beyond belief when the great-grandchildren were born: Cohen, Calloway, and Camden Sisler, Given Hinkle, Weston and Clay Barlow, Leroy and due soon Baby Girl Rush. June was lucky enough to have a long term companion, Robert (Bob) Wilson, who took care of her and shared his family with her. In the last few years, Bob’s sister, Thelma Maze became a wonderful caregiver and friend. June Bug was loved by so many lifelong friends, but her “sister” Karen McClaren Milburn, has truly been by her side through it all!
